Having lost the toss Borderers took to the field with the new ball being handed to the opening duo of C. Wood and D. Hueston. What was to follow was a series of unfortunate events. Despite some bamboozling bowling at times Borderers failed to capitalise on the catching practice provided by the visitors, which proved costly as a commanding batting partnership formed. The pressure was kept on by Wood at one end and wickets began to fall at the other with contributions from J. Moor and N. Edwards as Borderers clawed their way back into the game and east dean and friston finished with (insert score).
Out walks N. Edwards and P. Anderson to mount the charge. Sadly Anderson (12) was forced to retire hurt early on and N. Edwards struggled with Sharapova trundling in. Another solid display from Hueston (43) anchored what would be a short innings for the team. With enough ducks to fill a pond Borderers collapsed to a meagre 94 all out.
Roll on next week at home to Willingdon where Borderers will endeavour to stop the rut.
